In this post and video, I'll cover 4 ethical principles that many Akashic Record readers are (often unknowingly) breaking. We'll also talk about the importance of dismantling harmful power dynamics in Akashic Record readings... and spiritual work overall.
Let's start with an anecdote:
I once had a client come to see me in a panic because she'd been told by a so-called psychic healer that her "Soul was 70% dark" and there was "little chance she could recover her Soul and bring it back to the light."
(Unless, of course, she worked with that particular healer and paid a bunch of money to have her Soul "saved.")
Pardon my language, but... what bullsh*t.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing!
Such a frightening, triggering, completely UNETHICAL, utter-nonsense thing to say to someone.
Unfortunately, I've heard many stories like this over the years, both from clients and students.
For example, one student shared with me that her former Akashic Records teacher got mad at her (!) when she decided to explore other ways of learning and working with the Records.
I've also heard from people who've been told that unless they use a specific portal prayer (to open the Akashic Records) from a specific teacher, they're not really connecting to the Records.
WOW. *mind-blown*
These stories demonstrate that the spiritual and healing communities are not immune to ego...
...and just how important it is for us as spiritual practitioners to be committed to the highest levels of integrity, ethics, humility, professionalism, and personal development - so we can show up for others as clearly and ethically as possible.
In the video below, I cover these topics in greater depth:
- dismantling old, harmful power dynamics between healer/reader & client
- reclaiming your power and inner knowing, even when working with a healer
- honoring the healers, readers, and lightworkers who ARE putting in the ongoing work to be the best, most effective, most ethical practitioners they can be (and who truly care!)
- 4 specific ethical guidelines that Akashic Record readers will (often unknowingly) break, and what to do instead
- how we can do better as practitioners, both for our clients and for ourselves
If you've ever been on the receiving end of a less-than-helpful, unethical, frightening, or traumatizing experience with a healer or spiritual teacher... I'm so sorry.
You deserved better, and the onus is on us as practitioners to DO better.
With love,
Josephine
