Deepen Your Akashic Records Connection: Practical Guidance

If you’ve taken an Akashic Records course or read about the Records online, you may have come away with a nagging feeling: Is this all there is?

As an Akashic Records Master Teacher, I hear this often. Many of my students have already explored prior Akashic Records courses or trainings. They aren’t beginners so much as seekers who want more depth, a fuller understanding of the Records, and a connection that’s clearer and more consistent.

When I ask what got in the way or prevented them from going further, two issues come up again and again.

Issue #1: The “Airy-Fairy” Approach

A lot of teaching on the Records stays at the surface. It can be New Age-y, sometimes leaning into fortune-telling, and sometimes, unfortunately, using the Records as a form of spiritual bypassing.

To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with a light touch. Playfulness, curiosity, and experimentation are essential attitudes in this work.

But staying on the surface drastically limits what’s possible. It can leave you feeling empty or not fully satisfied, like you were served a tasty appetizer but the main course never arrived.

A different, more grounded approach

I teach the Records as a powerful tool for genuine healing and transformation, grounded in reality and oriented toward depth and lasting psychospiritual growth.

At the heart of this is what I call Akashic Resonance: the state of being, the higher consciousness of the Akashic Field itself, integrated into your actual daily life. It’s less about visiting the Records occasionally and more about embodying that frequency in how you think, choose, relate, and move through the world.

That means we don’t use the Records to bypass anything or escape into fantasy. We use them to enrich the human life you’re already living, and to help you fulfill your highest purpose while you’re here, in this body, on this planet.

Issue #2: The “Just Say the Prayer and You’ll Get It” Myth

Many trainings will tell you: sit down, say a portal prayer (or do a specific ritual), open the Records, and it will just work for you, instantly and clearly.

For some people it does. For most, it doesn’t.

Learning how to read the Akashic Records and receive clear information is like learning a new language or instrument. You wouldn’t expect to play a concerto after your first piano lesson, or to speak Japanese fluently after taking one class. In most cases, connection builds with practice, and it’s rarely instantaneous.

The problem is what happens when it doesn’t click right away. Students often assume they did something wrong, or worse, that something is wrong with them.

That isn’t just inaccurate. It’s harmful.

A student’s story

One of my students had done a weekend Akashic Records training before working with me. During that training, a lot of self-doubt – and doubt about whether she was in fact connecting to the Records – came up for her (which is normal!). When she brought it to her teacher, the repeated response was: “Sit down, speak the prayer, it will work.”

It didn’t. And this student felt ashamed, like something was wrong with her. She also felt she couldn’t go back to that teacher to ask for more help, since there didn’t seem to be any other answers or guidance for her issue.

When she joined one of my programs, we approached her self-doubt directly, as a normal form of resistance and a natural part of the process… NOT as a personal failing. We also added some safety and grounding protocols to support her Akashic Records practice.

That made all the difference. Once the doubt was met with understanding instead of shame, and her foundation felt steadier, she began developing a solid, reliable connection to the Records.

Her story isn’t unusual. It’s what happens when a real, human obstacle gets treated as a flaw or mistake… or, even worse, as a sign that someone isn’t “spiritual” or “gifted” enough.

(Personal side note: my sense is there may also have been, on the teacher’s part, a fear of failure or of not being able to help this student… which, of course, makes the problem worse. These fears are all unconscious, and as teachers we aren’t infallible or perfect. This is why it’s key, for us teachers and practitioners, to continue our own healing work and be mindful of our inner biases and patterns – so we can show up for others at our best.)

What’s really going on

Self-doubt, resistance, and ego-mind interference are normal. They show up for virtually everyone, at some point, in this work.

Often there are unconscious fears quietly running the show and blocking a deeper connection, such as:

  • Fear of change
  • Fear of failure (or success!)
  • Fear of disappointment
  • Fear of uncovering guidance that asks you to let something go, like a relationship, job, situation, or belief
  • Fear of being truly powerful
  • Fear of stepping fully into your intuitive gifts

None of these reflect your capacity to connect. They’re common and very human.

How to Strengthen Your Akashic Records Connection

If your connection has felt inconsistent or kind of “on the surface”, here are a few practical tips that can shift it:

  1. Treat it like a practice, not a performance. Short, regular sessions build fluency better than occasional big ones. Releasing expectations is also essential, and allowing each journey in the Records to be whatever it needs to be (you won’t get “fireworks” every time, and this is ok!).
  2. Track how information comes to you. Some people receive information as words, some as images, some as feelings or a sense of knowing. Keeping an Akashic Records log or journal helps you learn your own “language” over time.
  3. Notice the resistance instead of fighting it. When doubt or fear shows up, treat it as a normal part of the process and as something that doesn’t have to derail you, rather than as proof that you’re failing.
  4. Boost your grounding and safety practices. If connecting feels unsettling or unclear, the way you’re preparing your body and nervous system (and building safety) to venture into the Records may need adjusting.
  5. Ground it in your actual, daily life. Ask how the guidance you receive can be applied in your real, everyday choices… and also ask the Records to send you guidance in your everyday life. This builds a more cohesive, integrated connection over time, rather than keeping the Records as a separate aspect of your life.
  6. Get the right support. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

What to Look for in an Akashic Records Training

Whether you work with me or someone else, here are some questions worth asking before you enroll in an Akashic Records course:

  • Does it address the real human psychology of doing this work, including doubt and resistance, or does it assume connection will be effortless?
  • Does it teach you to integrate the guidance into your actual life, or only to receive it?
  • Will you have enough support and tools, including grounding and safety practices, when you hit a wall?
  • Can you ask questions and get help without feeling ashamed?
  • Does it aim at real healing and growth, or at entertainment or prediction?

With the right support, you can notice these patterns as they arise and clear them with effective tools. That opens the way to a deeper, clearer, more fulfilling connection to the Records, and to the Divine Guidance and healing waiting for you there.
